Mary Elizabeth Redfearn was born on March 12, 1921, in Chesterfield, South Carolina, her mother, Susie, was 40. She married Luke Alexander and they had three children together between 1939 and 1942. She then had one child from another relationship in 1950. She then married Pfc Gary Reid and they had two children together between 1952 and 1953. Mary died on May 30, 1971, in Baltimore, Maryland, at the age of 50.
